pcworld.com - "Better yet, iChug for the iPhone uses the accelerometer built into your phone to time how long you take to down your beer. It's as though your phone distilled the best parts of college and fit them in your pocket."
whatsoniphone.com - "The iPhone deserves more drinking games like this one as long someone also invents a "Drunk Dial" prevention app to go with it."
krapps.com - "thanks to the brilliant minds at Icon Entertainment and their revolutionary new app … iChug … frat boy bitch fights are a thing of the past."
Ever wanted to know precisely how long it takes you to chug a glass of beer? How about if you could chug a bottle of beer faster than your friend?
iChug is a revolutionary app that uses the built in accelerometer to accurately determine how long it will take to chug any liquid in any container. Hold iChug against your drink (with the thin side facing you), press play and start chugging. iChug automatically starts a timer as soon as the liquid starts flowing into your mouth. It will stop as you bring your drink/iPhone/iTouch to your starting position.
iChug takes into account numerous factors that effect when to start and stop the timer. Complex mathematical formulas are used in conjunction with the drink settings to accurately determine the times.
Drink factors
Type (Beer, Water, Liquor, Soda)
Container (Can, Bottle, Glass)
Size (ml, US pint, US Qt., fluid ounce) - actual amount of liquid in your container
Percent Full - the percentage of liquid in your container
iChug stores high scores grouped by type and container ordered by the speed of the chug.
Try to beat my high score of 2.69 secs (12oz Beer - Glass). I dare you!
Upcoming additions to iChug include peer-to-peer, animations, and additional drink types/containers.
